1. COORDINATOR-COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible to: Director- Communications
Location: New Delhi
Overview: Coordinator-Communications takes lead in coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Communications function of Pravah and ensures the active participation of other team members in it. The Coordinator also provides strategic and operational leadership and translates project plans to implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Programme Development and Management
• Facilitate the design of various communication initiatives in collaboration with the team and senior members of Pravah.
• Ensure that all communications related targets are delivered on time (publications, websites, etc.).
• Co-create policies, processes and systems for successfully building the external image of Pravah.
• Anchor the Cross-programme Communication Representative Team at Pravah to ensure the team is fully aware of, agree with and contribute effectively to relevant publication/web initiatives.
• Design and implement ways to promote good relations and effective communication between Pravah and the media.
• Participate/anchor the overall design and management of the various events of Pravah.
• Liaise closely with all the programme teams of Pravah to identify stories of media interest, work proactively with team members at all levels throughout the organisation.
• Research and develop relationships with key external organisations and individuals, which are beneficial to Pravah’s media and other communication related activities (eg., media outlets, journalists, designers, artists, agents, other NGOs).
• With guidance from the CEO, identify new potential donors, visualize and write proposals for new Communications projects of the organization.
2. Finance and Administration
• Develop efficient administrative systems for the smooth functioning of the Communication processes.
• Ensure excellent relations with all donors by meeting reporting deadlines and contractual requirements at all times.
• Prepare and monitor the function’s budgets.
• Ensure the maintenance of appropriate files and documentation of the function.

3. Team Leadership and Management
• Take appropriate action to ensure the successful performance of all team members at all times.
• Support team members to identify and understand linkages between their work, the objectives of Pravah, and the criticality of the Communications function in the process, especially in building youth citizenship action and the external image of Pravah.
• Facilitate team members to contribute to the larger vision of Pravah.
• Provide personal support to team members if, as and when they require it.

4. Others
• Participate effectively in organizational trainings, review and planning exercises, meetings and retreats. 
• Represent Pravah in appropriate forums.
• Give peer support to other members of the larger Pravah team.
• Participate effectively in the various events and processes of Pravah.

THE COORDINATORS WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUST HAVE
• A post graduate degree/diploma (preferably in Mass Communication, Development Communication, Literature or Journalism) with 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in writing and designing/coordinating the aesthetic design of publications and/or websites and interest in new technology.
• Willingness to experiment with new and innovative ideas.
• Skills of strategising, marketing and brand-building.
• Knowledge about the development sector, youth programming and social change initiatives in the country, especially in the area of communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi and an active passion for writing and editing.
• Effective creativity and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in an inclusive atmosphere where respect is given to diverse views.
• Ability to facilitate the successful performance of the team and achieve personal targets to deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to effectively inspire and mentor colleagues and others if needed.
• Capacity to work hard and keep commitments.
• Willingness to travel on short notice, work flexible hours and weekends if required.
• Willingness to take on organisational roles.
• Excellent team management, team working and relationship building skills.


2. ASSOCIATE COORDINATOR-COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible to: Coordinator-Communications
Location: New Delhi
Overview:  The Associate Coordinator supports the successful operation of the Communications function through organizing and executing efficient communication initiatives within Pravah whole. The Associate Coordinator also supports the creation of learning and knowledge within Pravah.

1. Programme Execution
• Build awareness about Pravah and its programmes we are offering to the relevant target groups using diverse medium of communication – e.g.,websites, blogs, newsletters, press, publications and new development in the ICT sector.
• Develop and maintain Pravah’s websites, including managing content.
• Write (in English and Hindi) content for Pravah's publications and websites.
• Analyze, document and write reports and articles on relevant issues for Pravah’s publications and websites.
• Support program teams to meet their communication needs.
• Arrange logistics and lend support in designing, organizing and executing various communication-related processes within programmes, and events.
• Help develop deep, long term and mutually beneficial partnerships with individuals, organizations, media, service providers (designers, printers, web experts, etc.) and others. This will entail searching for suitable partners, assessing their strengths, exploring areas of collaboration, developing agreement, coordinating the delivery of agreed goals, etc.

2. Knowledge Creation and Maintenance
• Create and maintain appropriate databases.
• Build and maintain an archive of Pravah’s communication materials.
• Maintain appropriate files and documentation of the function and its processes.
• Ensure review, documentation and circulation of information related to various communication processes.

3. Organisational Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Programme Coordinator to set up and execute administrative systems relevant to the Communications function.
• Prepare work-plans for smooth functioning of the function and report on progress periodically.
• Mobilize resources, raise funds, report to funders and manage budgets when required to.
• Participate effectively in organizational trainings, review and planning exercises, meetings and retreats. 
• Recruit, train and supervise voluntary workers if needed, maximising their contribution to the communication function through effective management of their time and resources.
• Undertake any other duty that may be assigned by your team.

THE ASSOCIATE COORDINATOR MUST HAVE
• A post graduate degree/diploma (preferably in Mass Communication, Development Communication, Literature or Journalism) with 0-2 years of relevant work experience in a challenging environment.
• Ability to multi-task – take up and efficiently execute different types of tasks simultaneously.
• A flair for writing and designing/coordinating aesthetic design of publications.
• Excellent oral and written English and Hindi communication skills for a variety of audiences along with an active passion for writing.
• Good IT skills, preferably with web designing (html, Photoshop, CMS etc) and a passion for new technology.
• Willingness to experiment.
• Ability to inspire and be inspired to be open to learning, think out of the box and wish to connect with people.
• Reasonable understanding of development perspectives and issues of social justice.
• Planning and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.
• Willingness to travel on short notice, work flexible hours and weekends if required.
• Excellent team working and relationship building skills.

  1. Associate Coordinator- Pravah Jaipur Initiative
     Pravah

     Location: Jaipur

A person not willing to commit at least 2 years for the job need not apply.

Role:

• Mobilizing young people across schools and colleges in Jaipur for social change leadership and other skills and perspective building workshops.
• Designing and coordinating learning retreats, outstation exposure camps field visits, youth clubs and festivals
• Developing student volunteer opportunities and placements with other NGOs and partner organizations in Jaipur and outside.
• Documentation and regular reporting of events.
• Participating in strategic planning and review processes of the organization.
• Day to day management of the office.

We are looking for a person with:

• A positive orientation and cheerful disposition.
• Openness to learning, deep people orientation, leadership skills and enterprising spirit.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills in both Hindi and English, and a passion for working with young people and strong commitment to social justice issues.
• 0 –4 years experience.
• Capacity to work hard and keep commitments.
• Good computer and basic management skills


People with prior experience of working with youth or adolescents as well as practitioners in the field of human resources, psychology, management, education, social sciences are encouraged to apply. Persons with volunteering experience will be preferred.
